Maybe I'm a cynic but since the Anelka days, a lon g term contract doesn't make
much difference any m ore. When a player has had enough they just make n oises,
complain, then, inevitably, leave. A positi ve to the Ramsey situation is, when
he decides to leave and go home to cardiff he'll still be able t o drive to tra
ining every day. Also, as arsenal wi ll more than likely spend the rest of etern
ity abo ve cardiff in the league, only when he's close to retirement will he ut
ter those dreaded words " I'd like return home to play for my home town club
again at some point."

There was some good news for Arsenal fans, with the club’s announcement that Aaron Ramsey has signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal. Ramsey had been showing some fine form that saw him score four Premiership goals, and also shine for Wales, but then disaster struck with that cruel tackle at Stoke in February that saw Ramsey break both his fibula and tibia.
Future Having recovered after the successful operation to repair the damage, Ramsey was soon able to walk unaided, and will target a return to the Gunners line-up in the Autumn. After committing his future to the Gunners, Ramsey expressed his delight at having made the right choice to sign for the Gunners.
Happy "I'm very happy here. It's a great Club and I've learned a lot so far since I've been here. I think there is still a lot more to be learned and I am happy here. Every player wants to play in a team where they can play football and I feel that this is the way it should be played, so that's one of the reasons,” said Ramsey. The nineteen year old also praised the management of Arsene Wenger and his methods under which the mid-fielder has thrived. Improved "I think he has helped me massively so far. I think I have still got areas I can improve on but generally I think I have improved as a player and I had just started to show that and started to play a bit more in games but unfortunately then the injury came." |
