Arsenal completed their pre-season Austrian training camp with a comfortable 4-0 victory over SC Neusiedl, with Marouane Chamakh netting a second half penalty for his first goal in the famous red and white. Theo Walcott, Jay Emmanuel Thomas and Carlos Vela were also on the score-sheet in a game that despite the win, has given Arsene Wenger cause for concern at his lack of central defence options.
Is Arsene Wenger about to conclude further transfer business ahead of the season opener at Anfield? His desire to finalise all transfer targets ahead of the World Cup proved to be difficult, with a frustrating amount of his energy having to be devoted to rebuffing all Barcelona efforts to prize Cesc Fabregas to Spain. Having settled into their usual pre-season routine of the trip to Austria and then the playing of the Emirates Cup next weekend – AC Milan, Celtic and Lyon are the other clubs taking part, the likelihood of further arrivals at the Emirates could be imminent.
Following his departure from Arsenal, Eduardo has issued a personal message to the fans and all at the club who supported him during his three years in north London. The Brazil born Croatia national was a huge favourite at the Emirates, but his time in England will sadly always be remembered by the callous injury sustained at Birmingham in 2008, and one which cost Eduardo a whole year to recover from.
Arsenal revealed their new home kit for the 2010/11 season today, and it is one which loyal Gunners’ fans will recognise as a retro style synonymous with the club in the 1970’s. The new home kit will be available to pre-order from, Thursday 1st July, via www.arsenal.com and through Club outlets, and will be on retail sale from Thursday 29th July.

Say it often enough, and the message will finally sink in. That is what Arsene Wenger is hoping for after continually refusing Barcelona’s advances for Cesc Fabregas over the course of the summer. The Catalans have shamefully and very publicly courted Fabregas with Barcelona players Carlos Puyol, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta all going on record stating their desire to see Fabregas return to his hometown club. Wenger has been adamant, that this scenario will not happen, even when Barcelona president Sandro Rossell sought to meet Wenger at the World Cup in Johannesburg to discuss the deal, the Arsenal manager refused point blank to entertain Rossell or any of his avowed desires. And after Arsenal had seen off Barnet in their traditional curtain raiser at Underhill, Wenger expressed the need for any further Fabregas stories to stop.
Maybe I'm a cynic but since the Anelk...
Well its all well and good Arsene say...
